PADMAN Official Trailer : Akshay Kumar plays the superhero that India truly needs

Presenting the much awaited Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte starter ‘PadMan’ have released their first official trailer.

Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share the trailer with the caption, “Presenting the much awaited #PadManTrailer, this one’s for the mad ones, the ones who are crazy enough to change the world @PadManTheFilm @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia @kriarj #RBalki”

In the trailer, Akshay appears as the Indian superhero, ‘PadMan’, the man who made sanitary napkins affordable for women, giving other superheroes like Superman and Batman a run for their money. The trailer begins with a narration from Amitabh Bachchan, announcing ‘PadMan’ as India’s answer to American superheroes. It goes on to see Akshay’s character working hard on his idea of creating a sanitary pad and trying it out himself and even checking for leaks.

However, using the idea to his sister and wife is met with rejection and end up with his wife leaving him and the villagers avoiding him. When all fails, Sonam’s plays a role of a social worker comes in as a guiding light to help him scale new heights.

The film is based on the true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham -the man who invented low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas, this film is directed by R. Balki.

the film is set to release on January 26, 2018.
